Now that the end of the year is approaching, it's a good time to reflect. This year, a lot of work went into redesigning the undergraduate software engineering course at the University of Bayreuth. Besides that, the Software Engineering Group finally managed to fill all positions, with Fabian joining as our technician, Shalini starting as a postdoc and Moein starting as a doctoral researcher. In January, Brenda will fill the last remaining position when she starts as a doctoral researchers as well. Bespite the effort that went into teaching, recruitment, and building up the group, we managed to publish some interesting papers, one of which even won a best paper award. The recent inaugural lecture (recording) was a great conclusion of this year. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the results of the projects we started this year, for example a student project togehter with the local organization PERSONET, and everything else we're hopefully going to achieve next year!
